5 Ways to Make Digital Holiday Collabs Work Harder for Your Brand

Every year, brands flood the market with holiday campaigns and seasonal promotions. From festive packaging to gift guides, it can feel like everyone is vying for the same consumer attention at the same time. The challenge? Making your brand stand out in a season already crowded with noise.

At Envision Promotions, we believe success is in collaboration – strategic, values-driven partnerships that turn “holiday marketing” into memorable, measurable experiences. Here’s how brands can cut through the noise and create holiday and seasonal campaigns that shine.

1. Start With Shared Values

The most successful seasonal collaborations aren’t about forcing two logos together. They start with alignment—who you’re trying to reach, and what matters to them right now.

For example, when one of our children’s toy partners leaned into the idea of family-first storytelling, we paired them with retailers and lifestyle brands who were equally focused on connection and joy. The result wasn’t just another holiday sweepstakes—it was a campaign that celebrated the simple magic of family traditions, resonating deeply with Millennial and Gen Z moms.

Pro tip: Ask, “Does this brand speak to my consumer’s mindset during the season?” If the answer is yes, you’re onto something powerful.

2. Build for Both Awareness and Action

Holiday campaigns are notorious for focusing only on impressions or flashy creative. While awareness is important, brands that win create experiences that also capture first-party data and drive measurable ROI.

We often start collabs with a multi-partner execution. All brands participate in exposure to leverage all audiences and share the magic. Often,  our multi-partner programs require email and SMS opt-ins as part of the registration. Not only do the campaigns often exceed subscribers for each partner, but it also generated an average purchase to new customers. That’s the kind of win-win that extends far beyond December.

Pro tip: Tie your seasonal campaign to a data-capture element (email, SMS, loyalty sign-ups, followers or purchase). It’s the gift that keeps giving all year long.

3. Think Beyond the Giveaway

Yes, giveaways are fun—but holiday collabs can (and should) be more. Think curated content, bundled offers, experiential activations, or even charitable tie-ins. Consumers are looking for meaning during the holidays, not just discounts.

One partnership we built connected a family apparel brand with a mission-driven children’s nonprofit. Together, they offered giftable products while highlighting a cause that mattered. The campaign didn’t just drive sales; it built trust and positioned both brands as purpose-led leaders.

Pro tip: Ask how your collab can deliver surprise and delight beyond a prize. Can you make shopping easier? Inspire gift-giving? Support a mission?

4. Create Retail-Ready Moments

Seasonal collaborations work best when they integrate seamlessly across touchpoints—from social feeds to store shelves. For a recent campaign, we worked with a retailer, toy partner and children’s retailer to design an influencer-led shopping moment. The influencer walked through the store, “picking” partner products off the shelves, which then tied directly into the holiday sweepstakes. This simple, shoppable activation tied online buzz to in-store traffic, which is every retailer’s dream.

Pro tip: Don’t stop at digital—look for ways to connect the dots between online, in-store, and in-home.

5. Measure What Matters

Seasonal collabs stand out when they’re backed by clear metrics. Impressions and likes are nice, but what really counts is growth: new consumers reached, databases expanded, conversions driven.

When we debrief with our partners, we can’t wait to prove the success of the campaign. We only can do that if we identify exactly what we’re trying to track and measure.  Make your campaign festive and effective.

Pro tip: Define your KPIs before launching. Is the goal awareness? SMS database? Email growth? Foot traffic lift? A partnership is only as strong as the success you measure.

Wrapping It Up (Pun Intended 🎁)
Holiday and seasonal collabs are about building meaningful connections that last beyond the season. By aligning on values, balancing awareness with action, thinking creatively, creating retail-ready experiences, and measuring results, brands can create campaigns that rise above the noise.

At Envision, we semi-jokingly refer to ourselves as a “dating service” for large organizations and small up-and-coming brands and retailers. Our role is to connect the right partners at the right time, so every campaign (holiday or otherwise) feels intentional, exciting, and effective.

In a crowded season, the brands that stand out aren’t the loudest. They’re the most meaningful and resonate with your ideal target customer. It’s called the season of joy for a reason, right?!
